Venom X Bundle overview

Bundles are hit or miss. Many pad the box with accessories you would never choose. The TenPoint Venom X Bundle (Vektra) is different because nearly everything in it is TenPoint's own mainstream kit, the same arrows, broadheads, case and sling we cover in our gear guides.

The bow itself is the TenPoint Venom X: 390 FPS, ACUslide cocking and de-cocking, and TenPoint's lightest ACUslide model. This page focuses on whether the bundle is worth buying over the bare bow.

Speed and kinetic energy

TenPoint rates the Venom X Bundle at 390 FPS. Manufacturers typically measure rated speed with a specific arrow weight, and real world speed with your arrows can differ. To keep comparisons fair, we calculate energy for every bow with the same 400 grain arrow using the standard formulas: kinetic energy (ft-lbs) = grain × FPS² ÷ 450,240 and momentum (slug-ft/s) = grain × FPS ÷ 225,218.

At 390 FPS, a 400 grain arrow carries about 135.1 ft-lbs of kinetic energy and 0.69 slug-ft/s of momentum at the muzzle. That places it in the very large game class of widely cited energy guidelines (elk, moose, cape buffalo class animals). For whitetail, a common guideline is at least 42 ft-lbs, so every bow in our lineup clears that bar with a large margin. Shot placement and a sharp broadhead matter far more than extra speed.

Cocking: ACUslide

ACUslide is TenPoint's integrated crank system. It lives inside the stock, so there is no rope to carry and nothing to attach before you cock the bow. The feature that matters most for hunters is that it also de-cocks. At the end of a sit you can let the string down under control instead of shooting a bolt into the dirt or a discharge bag.

Owners across hunting forums and Reddit threads consistently rank safe de-cocking as one of the biggest quality of life upgrades in modern crossbows. It removes the end of day routine of finding a safe backstop, and it means a bow does not have to sit cocked for hours in a truck or blind. The tradeoff is cost: ACUslide bows sit in TenPoint's upper price tiers, and cranking is slower than a rope cocker for people who practice a lot.

Our source data does not confirm a scope included with this configuration, so we do not list one. Check the Amazon listing before you buy and budget for optics if needed. Using approximate September 2026 prices for items sold separately: two 6-packs of Pro Elite 400 arrows are about $169.98, but this bundle has 9 standard plus 3 lighted arrows, so a closer comparison is one 6-pack ($84.99) plus one lighted 3-pack ($84.99) plus extra standard arrows. Add the broadheads ($49.99), narrow soft case ($149.99) and sling ($39.95), and the accessories alone approach or exceed the roughly $400 gap between the Vektra bare bow ($1,099.99) and the bundle ($1,499.99).

The math is not exact because pack sizes differ, but the direction is clear. If you need these items, the bundle is fair value and saves ordering and matching headaches.
