Titan 400 overview

The TenPoint Titan 400 is the entry ticket to the TenPoint brand in our lineup. It is rated at 400 FPS, comes with a Pro-View 400 scope and 3 Pro Elite 400 arrows, and uses ACUdraw Silent, a built-in crank designed to cock quietly.

At about $799.99, it competes directly with Wicked Ridge models built on similar technology, which makes it a useful test of how much the TenPoint name is worth to you.

Speed and kinetic energy

TenPoint rates the Titan 400 at 400 FPS. Manufacturers typically measure rated speed with a specific arrow weight, and real world speed with your arrows can differ. To keep comparisons fair, we calculate energy for every bow with the same 400 grain arrow using the standard formulas: kinetic energy (ft-lbs) = grain × FPS² ÷ 450,240 and momentum (slug-ft/s) = grain × FPS ÷ 225,218.

At 400 FPS, a 400 grain arrow carries about 142.1 ft-lbs of kinetic energy and 0.71 slug-ft/s of momentum at the muzzle. That places it in the very large game class of widely cited energy guidelines (elk, moose, cape buffalo class animals). For whitetail, a common guideline is at least 42 ft-lbs, so every bow in our lineup clears that bar with a large margin. Shot placement and a sharp broadhead matter far more than extra speed.

Cocking: ACUdraw Silent

ACUdraw Silent is a built-in crank cocking system housed in the stock. The Silent version is designed to reduce the ratcheting clicks of older crank systems, which matters when you need to re-cock in a stand before daylight. It cocks the bow but it is not a de-cocking system, so you still need a plan to unload at the end of the hunt, usually a discharge bag or a safe target.

For many hunters, especially those with shoulder or back issues, a crank cocker is the difference between a crossbow they can use comfortably and one they avoid. It also helps consistency, because the string is pulled back evenly every time, which is good for accuracy.

Scope and optics

The bow ships with the Pro-View 400 scope. A factory matched scope means you can mount, sight in and hunt without shopping for optics separately, and it is calibrated with the bow's speed class in mind.

Price and value

At about $799.99, the Titan 400 costs about $100 less than the Wicked Ridge RDX 410, which uses the same ACUdraw Silent and Pro-View 400 scope but is 10 FPS faster. The Fury 410 costs about $300 more but de-cocks and has a much larger, well rated owner base.
