Who needs a discharge bag?

If your crossbow does not de-cock, the safe way to unload is to shoot a bolt into a proper backstop. A discharge bag is a compact target made for exactly that. In our lineup, these bows cock but do not de-cock:

ACUslide bows and the Fury 410 De-Cock can de-cock, so a discharge bag is less essential, but still useful for practice.

How to choose a crossbow practice target

  • Speed rating. Crossbows in our lineup range from 380 to 505 FPS. Use a target the maker rates for crossbows at or above your bow's speed. Archery targets for vertical bows can be shot through.
  • Broadhead vs field points. Some targets stop field points only. Use a broadhead rated layer when practicing with hunting heads.
  • Easy arrow removal. Fast crossbow bolts can bury deep. Look for targets designed for easy pulls.
  • Backstop. Always have a safe background behind any target.
