Is there a good crossbow under $500?
If you searched for the best crossbow under 500 dollars, here is the honest answer: no current TenPoint or Wicked Ridge crossbow sells new for under $500 on Amazon right now. The Commander M1 at about $600 is the closest you can get from these two brands.
You can find a cheap crossbow for less from other makers, but the best cheap crossbow is not always the lowest price. Owners of sub-$500 bows commonly mention tradeoffs in a few areas:
- Build quality. Lower priced bows often use cheaper limbs, strings and stocks, which can affect durability over seasons.
- Cocking device. Many skip a crank entirely and rely on rope cocking, or sell a crank as an extra.
- Scope. Included scopes on very cheap bows are often basic and may need replacing.
- Trigger. Heavier or less consistent triggers are a common complaint on entry-level models.
